Different Worlds: Murphy Media Distribution(US) and Blue Pictures Entertainment (Nigeria) present one of the First Hit Movies of the New Year

Nigeria, Lagos – Lagos Different Worlds, which was filmed in both Lagos, Nigeria and New Orleans, Louisiana, is predicted to make an indelible mark on the film industry and the bourgeoning collaboration between African and African-American filmmakers in Hollywood and Nollywood.
The executive producer of  Different Worlds is Austin Ogbuefi, President of Stanford Films Production and an award-winning Nollywood producer. Terrence Rosemore, an American director and actor, has over thirty years of experience in the film industry- both in front of and behind the camera. Different Worlds marks his directorial debut. Chris Eneaji, an award-winning Nollywood director and screenwriter, directed the Nigerian segments of the film. Tamyra Taylor, a first-time writer and natural storyteller, delivers a compelling cross-cultural narrative that will leave audiences wanting more.
The storyline focuses on a Nigerian man traveling to America for adventure. Upon arrival, he hasa life changing encounter with a beautiful artist who lives in New Orleans. Suddenly, the life he has back in his homeland is on unstable ground. Audiences will be riveted by the journey he takes coming to America for one objective, but returning to his country with more than he ever imagined.
 The film stars several celebrated African actors and promising new talent from the U.S. Kenneth Okolie, Tadasay Robinson, Kofi Adjorlolo, Lilian Esoro, Ngozi Ezeonu, and Emonie Ellison round out the talented cast.Murphy Media Distribution (MMD) has entered into an agreement with Stanford Films Production to distribute Different Worlds.
MMD’s founding partners, Ray Murphy, Jr. and Albert “Buck” Kolkmeyer, along-with Eleanor Earl, an executive at MMD, facilitated the acquisition of the global rights to all territories, except Nigeria. Joy Efe Odiete of Blue Pictures Entertainment will handle distribution in Nigeria.
Odiete is an award-winning film distributor and the Managing Director and CEO of Blue Pictures Entertainment, which is based in West Africa.  “We look forward to working with Joy Efe Odiete and Blue Pictures Entertainment,” says MMD Founding Partner, Ray Murphy. “We hope that this is the beginning of a strong alliance between our two companies and countries,” Murphy continues.
Different Worlds made its triumphant premiere in Nigeria on December 21, 2019. Audiences andfilm critics have nothing but praise for the film.  As a perfect start to the new year and new century, the Nigerian theatrical release of this thoroughly entertaining film took place on January3, 2020. MMD anticipates an early Spring 2020 release date in the US.
Murphy Media Distribution (MMD)was formed in 2017 by Ray Murphy Jr. and Albert “Buck” Kolkmeyer. Together, the partners share over 75 years of experience in the movie industry. From different vantage points in the industry, Ray, from production and Buck, from distribution and exhibition, they came to very similar conclusions.
 First, thereis very little diversity in the selection of movies in the marketplace. Based on the success of the few diverse movies that are able to get into the market, that there is a huge untapped, underserved market. African Americans are frequent moviegoers, second only to the Hispanic community.
