Dubai achieves goal of being the world’s first paperless government. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, said that this is the completion of the paperless policy adopted in 2018.
This marks the beginning of a new phase in Dubai’s journey to digitize across all sectors. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, said four years ago that government employees and consumers would no longer have to print paper documents in Dubai after 2021.
That promise has been fulfilled today. Proud of a complete transition to a paperless government. He added that this would help increase Dubai’s competitiveness as a world – class digital city. He said that this would reduce the consumption of 33.6 crore papers and save 130 crore dirhams and the labor of 1.4 crore people.
