Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in Ile Ife, Osun State, counseled President Muhammadu Buhari to show care for Nigerian youths involved in the #NEDSARS protests across the country. Dr. Obasanjo acknowledged that Nigerian youths go through a lot of hardships to survive as citizens of the country, saying that the government must listen to their demands.
Obasanjo challenged President Buhari to show he understands the plight of Nigerian youths and give them assurance he would improve their living conditions.
Dr. Obasanjo in a statement by Moses Olafare, Director of Media, Ooni’s palace, Obasanjo, during a visit to Ooni, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, was cited to have remarked that many youths have to struggle to acquire education, while the educated ones among them were frustrated over lack of opportunities.
The former president noted that there are windows of opportunities the government can explore to prove it exists for the Nigerian people; youths inclusive.
