Liverpool on Saturday survived defeat at Fulham, playing 2-2 with newly promoted Fulham to the Premier League.
Aleksandar Mitrovic scored two goals for Fulham while Darwin Nunez, a new signing from Benfica, came off the bench on his first Premier League outing to save the day for Liverpool.
He scored the equalizing goal at 1-1; later he put a cross to Mohamed Salah for the second equalizer 10 minutes from full time that made the game end 2-2. Liverpool, thus, escaped with one point.
Liverpool manager, Jugen Klopp, admitted that it was a bad game for his side, but expressed optimism for improvement.
According to Klopp, “The best thing about the game was the result. We got a point from a really bad game.
“The result was fine; I don’t think we deserved more than that. The performance can be massively improved.”
Fulham manager, Marco Silva, expressed respect to Liverpool but commended the efforts of his team. Silva had said: “We have to respect Liverpool but of course do our job and trust ourselves.
“We did a great first half, almost perfect the way we controlled and blocked. Second half, we matched them.”
