Chris Anaelechi Obasi, managing director of Zeta-Web Nigeria and former general manager at MultiChoice Nigeria, has reportedly been abducted from his residence in the Graceland Estate area of Ajah, Lagos According to TheCable, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to his sister, Ada Francis, Obasi was allegedly lured out of his apartment by an acquaintance and taken by gunmen suspected to be security operatives. Family members said a neighbour overheard the assailants mention “Tiger Base, Owerri” during the abduction.
Security guards at the estate gate also claimed the men flashed identity cards linked to the Tiger Base, a police unit in Imo State known for handling robbery and kidnapping cases.

As of now, Obasi’s whereabouts remain unknown, and family members are seeking clarification from the police unit.
Some have reportedly travelled to Owerri for further information. The abduction comes amid an ongoing kingship dispute in Eziama community, Ikeduru LGA of Imo State. Obasi is believed to be the heir to the throne, following the death of his father, Eze C.A. Obasi Oparaugo, the Ekwueme Orji I of Eziama.
A high court ruling on the kingship matter is expected on Friday, May 16, 2025. Imo State Police spokesperson Henry Okoye has yet to comment on the case.
