Father of girl found dead in Ekiti reveals details about her death

The dead body of a seven year old girl identified as Demilade was recently found in a cooler. The Father of the young girl, Mr Fadare Oluwashola shared his own account of the story with BBC News Pidgin.

According to Mr Fadare, the unfortunate incident took place on Monday morning around 9am. His wife sent Demilade to go out and buy pap for their morning breakfast. When she arrived at the shop to buy the pap, the Woman had only one left.

Demilade decided to go back home and tell her parents before looking for another shop to buy the pap. One child claimed that she saw someone that carried Demilade while she was close to the gate of an estate.

The little girl explained that the person that carried Demilade was putting on a brown top. The stranger then carried Demilade and took her into the house next to her home.

It was on that Sunday morning that Fadare got a call from his wife saying their daughter was missing. Fadare had to call his friend in Ekiti to help him search the houses in the area for his daughter.

When his colleague began the house search, they got to the house where Demilade was Murdered. The owner of the house refused them entrance and claimed his wife left with the house key.

Mr Fadare revealed that he felt the presence of his daughter in the house at night. They even had a prayer session and the Pastor revealed that his daughter was close by. It was the next day that they had to continue searching for Demilade

Mr Fadare explained it was the suspect that reported himself to the police. They claimed that it was their mentally ill daughter that killed Damilade. It was at the Police station that Mr Fadere found out that his daughter was dead already.

Mr Fadare never knew that it was right beside his house that his daughter was murdered, he thought it was kidnappers that killed her.

The cooler where Demilade’s corpse was kept

Mr Fadere shares a fence with the suspect that murdered his daughter. Mr Fadare also revealed that he has a good relationship with the suspects, he even buys things from them.

When Demilade’s corpse was deposited at the mortuary, they found several stab wounds on her neck and other parts of her body. It seemed like her blood was drain and she was kept in a sac bag.

The police have already arrested the owner of the house alongside his Wife and mentally ill daughter. The house where the incident took place got burnt down by an angry mob.
