The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has announced that the FCT Administration has achieved 90 percent of its N1.1 trillion 2024 budget.

Wike made this statement after inspecting several ongoing projects in the capital city, Abuja, on Thursday.

The projects Wike reviewed include the construction of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, road network improvements, and the ongoing renovation of the International Conference Centre (ICC).

Additionally, he inspected two interchanges—one at Ahmadu Bello Way connecting Wole Soyinka Way and the other linking Wole Soyinka Way with Murtala Mohammed Expressway.

Wike explained that all the ongoing projects were part of the 2024 budget, with implementation extended until June 2025.

He also mentioned that new projects have been incorporated into the proposed 2025 FCT budget, which President Bola Tinubu is expected to submit to the National Assembly for appropriation.

The Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of the projects and expressed optimism that the ICC would be completed and handed over by late April or early May.

He also indicated that the contractor working on the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal is on track to complete the project by September.

“We have also agreed with Gilmor, the contractor executing the two interchanges, that the project will be ready for inauguration to celebrate the second anniversary of Tinubu’s administration,” Wike added.

He further assured that contractors were performing well, with payments up to date to avoid any delays in project completion.
