The Federal Government is working diligently to improve the condition of federal roads in Lagos State to ensure smooth traffic flow and alleviate gridlock as residents and visitors navigate the city during the festive season.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, assured that both major and smaller roads would receive attention to facilitate seamless movement across the state.
Kesha emphasized that the ministry was adhering to project timelines and ensuring the timely completion of federal road projects in Lagos.
“We want to ensure that all federal roads in the state, no matter how small, receive the necessary attention to enable free movement,” she stated.
Acknowledging the anticipated influx of people into Lagos during this period, Kesha assured that the efforts were aimed at providing a remarkable experience for everyone.
“We understand the challenges of heavy vehicular and human traffic, but we have gained valuable experience in managing these issues,” she said.

Highlighting the ministry’s expertise, Kesha pointed to the successful completion of the Third Mainland Bridge repair as evidence of their capability in handling complex road projects.
She also stressed the importance of effective communication with the public, ensuring that disruptions are minimized through timely updates on road closures and diversions.
“We do not take the public for granted,” Kesha added, as she reiterated the commitment to easing movement and improving the festive season experience for all.
