Fidelity Bank resumes international transactions on Naira debit cards, sets $1,000 quarterly limit

Fidelity Bank Plc has announced the resumption of international transactions on its Naira debit cards, a development that allows customers to once again make payments abroad, shop online on global platforms, and withdraw cash at ATMs outside Nigeria.

In a statement, Ifeoma Onibuje, Divisional Head, eBanking at Fidelity Bank, said the move underscores the bank’s commitment to providing seamless financial solutions that align with customers’ lifestyles.

“We are delighted to inform the public that Fidelity Naira Cards are now enabled for global use. This means that our travelling customers can now utilize their Naira debit cards outside the country to shop, spend, and withdraw internationally without hassles,” Onibuje explained.

According to the bank, customers can now spend up to $1,000 quarterly on international Point-of-Sale (POS) and online transactions, as well as withdraw up to $500 quarterly from international ATMs.

The announcement adds to the bank’s suite of international payment options, including foreign currency debit and credit cards. Fidelity’s VISA and Mastercard Naira Debit Cards will now provide customers with effortless global access.

Fidelity Bank emphasised that applying for a Naira debit card remains straightforward. Customers can request their cards through the Fidelity Mobile App or visit any branch nationwide to obtain one for immediate global use.
