Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa on Friday presented a budget proposal of N175.019 billion to the state House of Assembly for 2023 fiscal year.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the budget was tagged “Budget of Consolidation”.
Fintiri said that the proposed fiscal policy was made up of Recurrent Expenditure of N105.011 billion, representing 60 per cent of the total budget.
He said that the balance of N70.007 billion is for Capital Development projects, representing 40 per cent of the total budget.
According to him, government will continue to ensure that all ongoing projects, especially the ones started by his administration, are completed.
“The highlights of the capital expenditure side of the budget are execution on key projects which will add value to the lives and well-being of our people.
“Prominent among these projects are: the construction of a Super Highway from FGGC Yola to Yola town through Yolde-Pate.
“Establishment and construction of three Mega Secondary schools, one in each of the senatorial districts which will serve as special schools for the most talented of our students.
“Establishment of High-tech Vocational Training Centres to serve as Information Technology skill incubation hub for the development of our youths,” he said.
Mr Aminu Abbas, the Speaker of the House, commended Fintiri on infrastructural development and success on internally generated revenue in the state.
He assured that the budget would be scrutinised accordingly and ensure speedy passage.
