It is clear that getting adequate sleep is important for a healthy life. however, sometimes sleeping can also be dangerous. There are actually a number of things that can go wrong when you shut your eyes and slip into unconsciousness-and for some people the danger is real enough that they never wake up again. According to a Greek proverb, deaths nd sleep are brothers.

Sudden cardiac arrest

According science sudden cardiac arrest can occur when the sinoatrial node, the nodes in the heart that essentially act as your body’s natural peacemaker is impaired.

In other words the situation occurs when the electrical system of the heart malfunction and in some cases it is deadly within the first two minutes.

How does it kill? It basically reduces blood flow to the brain. And not only does it occur during sleep, but half of the cases show no symptoms before the cardiac arrest take place.

Carbon monoxide poisoning

Carbon monoxide or CO, is a gas that is colourless and odourless that can be lethal if too much of it enters the lungs.

CO can be found in fumes that comes from running cars, generators, gas range, furnace, fireplace, and so on.

How does it kill? Basically, if small of it build up in a small room, breathing it in can becomes toxic. The victim may experience symptoms like headache, dizziness, weakness. If you get caught up in your sleep it may turn out fatal.

Sleep apnea

Central sleep apnea is basically a disorder that causes the sufferer’s breathing to stop and start repeatedly while they are unconscious. This simply happens when the brain doesn’t send the proper signal to the muscles that controls breathing mechanism during sleep and it is believed to originate from a problem in the brain stem.

How does it kill people? In the case of apena oxygen level decreases below normal required for life function. This basically leads to oxygen deprivation which causes suffocation.

Unexplained nocturnal death

This is undoubtedly one of the “mysterious” type on this list.

Unexplained noctortnal death was first reported( SUNDS) in 1977 among south easth Asia refugees in America and canada. Since then it has gained a pretty scary reputation.

The exact cause of death among does who died of the disease is still unclear. It basically causes young, healthy, individuals to die in there sleep for no Reason.

How does it kill? Till date scientists still aren’t sure but it tends to occur frequently.

Cerebral Aneurysm

This is also very common. A cerebral Aneurysm also known as brain aneurysm, is just a weak spot in the wall of a blood vessel in the brain. It resembles a thin ballon that fills with blood. Over time, as the blood pumps through the artery, it continues to weaken and swell- and if the pressure is too much it may burst.

How does it kill? When aneurysm rupture the blood only last for few seconds. But the blood cause damage to surrounding brain cells, and can increase the pressure inside the skull. If the pressure becomes too much the condition may turn out fatal.
