In a significant political shift, Mrs. Susan Gbemisola Alabi, the former deputy governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State, has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Alabi’s resignation from the SDP was prompted by irreconcilable differences with the party’s governorship candidate, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is the APC candidate for the upcoming governorship election on November 16, welcomed Alabi into the party during his campaign tour in the Akoko North West Local Government Area.

During the event, Aiyedatiwa announced that the 2025 state budget would prioritize development initiatives across all regions of Ondo State, ensuring equitable progress.

“The 2025 budget will be well-structured to guarantee that every area of Ondo State benefits from development initiatives,” he stated, promising improvements in infrastructure and services for Akoko North West.

The governor expressed appreciation to local monarchs for their support during the APC primaries, noting their renewed endorsement ahead of the election.

The Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Olasehinde Ojo Adetona, spoke on behalf of 27 traditional rulers, pledging their unwavering support and assuring the governor of strong voter turnout for the APC due to trust in his leadership.

While addressing supporters in Oke Irun, Aiyedatiwa stressed the importance of unity and active participation in ensuring the APC’s victory in the upcoming election.
