The current statistics of global unemployment rate shows that Japan tops the table as the least country with high rate of unemployment of 2.5%, trailed by the United States (US) 3.5%.
Surprisingly, Nigeria is third with 4.1% while South Africa is worst hit with 32.6%.
Before this report on global unemployment rate 2023, Nigeria ranked highest in an earlier global unemployment rating of various countries of the world.
World unemployment rate for 2022 was 5.77%, a 0.43% decline from 2021. World unemployment rate for 2021 was 6.20%, a 0.7% decline from 2020.
World Population Review in a report identified top 10 Countries with the Highest Unemployment (World Bank 2020 data), where five African countries dominated the chart, and South Africa being on top as owrst hit unemployment countries in the world with 29.2%.
