In a groundbreaking step toward enhancing digital trust and payment security, GT USA Integrated Link, a subsidiary of Gold Treats, officially unveiled the Gold Treats App—a revolutionary platform that combines secure escrow-based transactions with real-time social communication tools.

The high-profile launch took place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at ONYX Hall, Black Diamond Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event drew prominent tech entrepreneurs, media executives, and fintech enthusiasts, all gathered to witness the debut of what its creators hailed as “a new era in safe digital commerce.”

Developed under the leadership of Gold Okechukwu Stanley Obiefuna, a Nigerian-born, US-based tech visionary and CEO of Gold Treats Nigeria, the app seeks to tackle long-standing issues of fraud and distrust that continue to plague Nigeria’s fast-growing digital transaction space.

According to Juniper Research, online fraud is expected to cost the global economy a staggering $343 billion between 2023 and 2027. Against this backdrop, Obiefuna said the timing of the Gold Treats App is both strategic and imperative.

“The launch of Gold Treats is a pivotal moment in our mission to create a safer and more trusting digital marketplace,” Obiefuna said during his keynote. “By blending robust escrow payments with secure communication tools, we eliminate major pain points and empower users to transact with confidence.”

Key Features of the Gold Treats App:

Escrow-powered payments that withhold funds until both parties confirm fulfillment of transaction terms.

Token-based transactions and real-time transaction tracking to ensure transparency and accountability.

Private, encrypted communication tools for buyers and sellers to engage securely.

Dispute resolution mechanisms, single-click giveaways, and minimal KYC/KYB processes to make onboarding easy.

Loyalty rewards system for individual users, merchants, and businesses to encourage long-term adoption.

Obiefuna noted that the platform isn’t just for digital natives, but also tailored to assist older generations and offline-first users who are gradually transitioning into online platforms.

“Gold Treats App is not just an app—it’s a movement toward a secure and seamless global payment ecosystem,” he said.

Despite rapid advancements in fintech, Nigeria still grapples with trust issues around online payments. Fraud, poor dispute resolution, and anonymity in peer-to-peer transactions have discouraged many from embracing digital commerce.

The Gold Treats App directly addresses these challenges by integrating transparency, accountability, and ease of use into every transaction. The dual-function nature of the app—enabling secure payments and authentic communication—marks it as one of the most comprehensive tools available in the space.

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, with a Nigerian office at 25 Grace Anjous Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Gold Treats is aiming to redefine digital interactions, not just in Nigeria, but across emerging and developed markets.

The Gold Treats App is now available for download globally on iOS and Android platforms, positioning the company to become a frontrunner in secure digital commerce in Africa and beyond.
