NATIONAL Association of Gbaramatu Students’ (NAGS) has condemned in very strong terms the military invasion of some communities of Gbaramatu kingdom, just as they described the military invasion in the wake of the recent bombing of pipeline as dastard and unholy.
This was contained in a statement signed by Ekpemupolo Seiyefa and Ituebi Onimide, President and secretary- General respectively of the students’ body, made available to our correspondent in Asaba.
According to the group, “the invasion of Okpeleama, a community in Gbaramatu is just like a scene reminiscent of the 2009 military invasion of the kingdom which inarguably left the inhabitants of the kingdom with a mixed feeling of war and terror. Consequently, people have started relocating to other places for safety. The invasion further crippled academic, economic and social activities in the peace loving and law abiding kingdom.
The group tasked the Federal Government to be diligent in finding who the perpetrators are rather than succumb to blackmail by people suspected to be enemies of the kingdom who are out on personal vendetta.
Gbaramatu kingdom is not at war neither is it a safe haven to terrorists, as we presently perceive in the Northern part of Nigeria.
