Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola was pleased with the contribution of Nigerian defender Tosin Adarabioyo despite his side losing 2-1 to FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
The promising central defender started on the right side of a three-man central defense and was impressive in a full shift, in what was only his sixth competitive game for the first-team of the Citizens.
”But we fought, and I’m so pleased for Tosin, Brahim and Phil for how well they played in the Champions League against a really good team in Shakhtar Donetsk,” Guardiola told

”They are resilient and talented players and the people saw it. We came here to win, we couldn’t, but we were there until the end to trying to do so.
”We were helped by Fernandinho in our build up because Tosin and Mangala have other qualities from that and we created good spaces outside because they defend really well. I’m pleased and happy for the performance.”
The 20-year-old Adarabioyo has been on the books of Manchester City for fifteen years.
