After a select group of APC governor and party Chairman John Oyegun met President Muhammadu Buhari in London last Sunday, a crop of PDP governors and one APC’s will be leaving Nigeria Tuesday to meet the recovering president.
The governors were picked one from each of the six geo-political zones by NSA Babagana Munguno.
Among them are Akwa Ibom’s Emmanuel Udom, Zamfara Abdulazzea Yari, chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, Ebonyi’s Dave Umahim and two others.
Oyo Gov. Isiaka Ajimobi is also on the list.
Buhari’s critics have, however, dismissed the selection—as including friendly governors and those that Munguno believes might have bedside manners.
Many had expected the likes of Ekiti Gov. Ayo Fayose and Rovers Gov. Nyesom Wike to have made the cut.
The duo have been very critical if Buhari since he embarked on his medical leave almost three months ago.
Fayose has been pressuring the Federal Executive Council to declare Buhari incapacitated.
With the series of meeting going on now, it’s not unlikely Buhari will extend his stay in London.
His media aide Femi Adesina has even hinted his boss will come back when doctors treating for what many believe is cancer discharge him.
