The Ondo State Police Command has revealed details of a daring early morning attack on a health facility in Oke Ijebu, where three suspected armed robbers stormed the premises and abducted staff members after dispossessing them of valuables.
The incident, which occurred at about 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, was confirmed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abayomi Jimoh.
According to the police, the attackers, armed with a pump-action rifle and cutlasses, gained entry into the health centre by scaling the perimeter fence before launching their operation.
During the attack, three persons on duty at the facility were forcefully robbed of their personal belongings, including mobile phones and a Point of Sale (POS) terminal.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects arrived at the scene in an unregistered black Toyota Venza vehicle. The car was reportedly parked along the main road before the assailants carried out the operation.
After the robbery, the victims were allegedly whisked away towards the Olokuta axis along Ondo Road. Police sources disclosed that the suspects later ordered the victims to remove their clothing and abandoned them in a bush before fleeing the area.

The victims were eventually rescued after finding refuge with nearby staff of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State visited the scene shortly after the incident and ordered a comprehensive, intelligence-driven investigation to track down the perpetrators.
“Tactical and surveillance teams have been deployed to ensure the suspects are apprehended and brought to justice,” the statement added.
Security agencies have intensified efforts in the area, while residents have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements to law enforcement authorities.
