Some Fulani herdsmen reportedly descended on the Akure South Local Government Secretariat Tuesday morning, chasing out workers following a disagreement.
One of the workers of the council was allegedly macheted by the herdsmen.
Ondo State Commissioner of Police Gbenga Adeyanju, and the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Pedro Ideba had to deploy their men in the council to contain the incidents.
The members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees are asking the government to act on the matter.
Attacks by Fulani herdsmen have been on the rise since January, despite the presidential order bringing in the military to assist the police in stemming the tides of violence.
