The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has declared that she remains a major political threat to former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, insisting that she harbours no fear of him.
Speaking on Saturday during an appearance on the Mic On Podcast, the senator dismissed suggestions that Bello poses any intimidation to her political career, describing herself instead as his “political nightmare.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan, who spoke candidly about her political journey and future ambitions, said she is fully prepared to confront the former governor at the polls if the opportunity arises.
“If by any choice I make up my mind and I’m on the ballot and ex-Governor Yahaya Bello is on the ballot, then I would say bring it on,” she said.
“Scared of who? He’s not my nightmare; rather, I’m his political nightmare.”
Her remarks appear to underscore ongoing political tensions in Kogi State, where Akpoti-Uduaghan and Bello have been key rivals in recent electoral contests.
The senator also addressed reports suggesting that some of her constituency projects were removed within the Senate, a claim that has generated public debate.
Clarifying her earlier comments, Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that she never directly accused the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of personally removing her projects.
“I said someone removed my projects,” she clarified, without naming any individual.
She did not provide further details on who she believes was responsible or the extent of the affected projects.
Akpoti-Uduaghan’s comments have continued to draw attention to internal legislative politics and power dynamics within the National Assembly, as well as the intense political rivalries shaping Kogi State’s political landscape.
The senator has remained vocal on governance, representation, and accountability since assuming office, often positioning herself as a strong and unyielding political figure in the face of opposition.
