A counsel to the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, Levi Uzoukwu has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of stalling at the ongoing Presidential Election Tribunal Court.
Uzoukwu stated this on Monday while reacting to the inability of INEC to defend its case due to the absence of its key witnesses.
INEC had failed to open its defence at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal after 10 days breaks.

The counsel said INEC was not ready to defend its case before the tribunal, noting that LP was ready to move on with its case, unlike INEC which has continued to show inconsistencies.
“Given the contradictions and inconsistencies and what INEC has done; I’m sure they are not ready to defend this case,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bwala, a media aide to the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has mocked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for failing to open its defence.
Reacting, Bwala tweeted: “INEC failed to open its defence after 10 days break; reason? Because witnesses failed to show up. #Vuvuzela #hakunamatata”
