Some INEC staffers conducting a bye-election at Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State, were kidnapped on Saturday.
INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Imo, Prof Francis Ezeonu has urged security agents to rescue the kidnapped staff.
While briefing newsmen at the state headquarters in Owerri, Ezeonu also confirmed the commission received reports of violence, snatching of INEC materials, disruption of polls and attack on personnel in some polling units.
Ngor-Okpala constituents are even in a dicey situation now as they await the result.
There were report of ballot snatching at Umuhu Comprehensive Secondary school in Umuhu, Ngor Okpala ward 9, shortly after voting ended.
Others marred by violence include booth 011, Community School 111, Umuowa, Obike, Eziama Elelem, Umuohiagu in Obokwe and Alulu in ward 1.
