Senator Shehu Sani has cautioned that the invasion of palliative warehouses in Adamawa State by residents was a sign of desperation, hunger and poverty in the country.

Sani cautioned that except the hardship and suffering in the country is brought under control, the Adamawa experience may spread to other parts of the country.

Palliative Warehouse invaded by hungry residents in Adamawa

Some stakeholders in the country joined Shehu Sani in lamenting the hardship Nigerians are facing while the elite are living in opulence.

According to a stakeholder, “our people are united in hunger .. Storming the palliative warehouse challenge.
“And our leaders united in looting. If I were asked, I have a remedy.”

“The Storming of the Palliative Warehouse in Adamawa by the masses is a sign of the level of desperation, hunger and poverty in the land.
“The earlier the hardships and suffering is alleviated and checkmated the better, before it spreads to the other parts of the country.”

Another stakeholder was of the view:

“Hardship in the country is by design. If the people can’t get their entitlements, they have every right to take it via every means necessary.”

Meanwhile, Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State had condemned the looting of warehouses in the state by hoodlums.

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on New Media to Governor Fintiri, Muhammad Bakari Tukur, in a statement indicated that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has condemned the looting of warehouses by some hoodlums in Yola, the State Capital, carting away food and non-food.

The SSA added that the commissioner of Police in the State, Tola Afolabi, had disclosed that about eighty suspected looters had been arrested by the security agents in the state.

The CP said the suspects are undergoing investigation, adding that there was no record of any casualty throughout the incident.
