The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has rejected the Igbo agenda and its champion Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

This rejection followed the exchange between the group and a faction of the Miyetti Allah.

The Fulani group accused IPOB of mellowing down and campaigning for Obi who is championing a Igbo presidency—instead of Biafra that IPOB is known for.

But in its latest response, IPOB said it’s not interested in an Igbo president, adding its members are not part of Obi’s supporters.

Emma Powerful, the spokesman of the separatist group, said Nigeria was irredeemable.

In a statement he signed, IPOB’s spokesman Emma Powerful said the Igbo people rallying behind Peter Obi are not IPOB members because IPOB’s goal is the disintegration of the Nigerian enterprise.

“IPOB is a freedom fighting movement and has nothing whatsoever to do with or in Nigerian politics. So long as we in IPOB are concerned, Nigeria is irredeemable,” he said as he called for release of the group’s leader Nnamdi Kanu.
