The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday announced that it has established total air superiority over Iranian airspace, describing the achievement as a decisive turning point in its ongoing military campaign, Operation Epic Fury.

In an official statement, the IDF said the milestone followed several days of coordinated air operations carried out alongside the United States. The strikes targeted Iran’s integrated air defense systems, radar installations, missile batteries, and command-and-control infrastructure.

Israeli military officials said the suppression of Iran’s air defense network now enables Israeli and coalition aircraft to operate with significantly reduced risk from surface-to-air missile systems and interceptor jets.

According to military sources, the new level of operational freedom is expected to accelerate follow-up strikes against strategic military assets and fortified facilities across the country.

The Israeli Air Force reportedly deployed its advanced fleet of F-35 “Adir” stealth fighter jets in precision missions aimed at dismantling what officials described as the most sophisticated layers of Iran’s defensive shield.

Defense analysts noted that the stealth capabilities of the aircraft played a crucial role in penetrating heavily defended airspace and striking high-value targets.

The announcement comes amid remarks by United States President Donald Trump, who characterized the campaign as achieving “unbelievable” success. However, American officials also confirmed the first U.S. combat casualties linked to the escalating confrontation.

U.S. forces have largely concentrated on maritime and base defense operations. Reports indicate that American naval units engaged Iranian vessels in the Persian Gulf, sinking multiple boats during recent encounters.

Military experts suggest that crippling Iran’s air defense architecture significantly reduces Tehran’s capacity to shield sensitive installations, including nuclear-linked facilities and critical command centers. With coalition aircraft now reportedly operating over major urban centers such as Tehran, the balance of aerial power appears to have shifted decisively.

However, analysts caution that air superiority does not eliminate asymmetric threats. Mobile ballistic missile launchers, drone swarms, and operations conducted by proxy-aligned militia groups remain active risks.

Intermittent strikes have continued across parts of the Persian Gulf region and the Levant, underscoring the persistence of unconventional tactics.

Security observers note that these methods could enable Iran to maintain pressure despite losing dominance in conventional air defense capabilities.

As Operation Epic Fury enters what Israeli officials describe as a new operational phase, diplomatic attention is increasingly focused on Tehran’s response. With mounting military pressure and coalition aircraft operating with greater freedom, observers say Iran’s newly formed leadership council may face heightened internal and external pressure regarding possible negotiations proposed by Washington.

Regional and global stakeholders are closely monitoring the situation, amid concerns that further escalation could destabilize broader Middle East security and impact global energy markets.

While Israeli officials frame the establishment of air superiority as a pivotal strategic breakthrough, the evolving conflict continues to carry significant military, political, and humanitarian implications across the region.
