The Israeli military further alleged that the targeted Hamas operative was involved in smuggling weapons and orchestrating terrorist attacks against Israel.
Hamas confirmed the attack and mourned the loss of Ahmad, whom they described as a lead engineer within the organization.
The group stated that he was killed while en route to perform the dawn prayer in the coastal city of Sidon, situated approximately 40 kilometers south of Beirut, the Lebanese capital.
