- I’ll rather mind essential issues than rant with Akeredolu
- Contest is about lofty ideas, not vulgarity
Ondo’s governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, has said he will rather mind lofty issues of public interest than join Mr. Akeredolu in recrimination.
Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Party (APC) in a commentary credited to his media aide, Kunle Adebayo had described Eyitayo Jegede as Governor Mimiko’s stooge.
Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, who spoke through his media team, said there are critical issues of public interest that should matter to any serious contestant by now.
“This is certainty not a time for idle talk and needless vulgarity. I will rather preoccupy myself with devising workable remedies to prevailing socioeconomic issues that is confronting the state rather than join Akeredolu in recrimination.”
The forthcoming governorship contest is about the ability and capacity of the candidates and not a contest of crude vulgarity.
The people doesn’t need such shaming display of verbal indiscipline, they deserve intelligent messages that address critical issues.
He however spur Ondo state not to be distracted by such mundane utterances but to concern themselves more about the seriousness of individual candidate to make the state more prosperous.
