Patience Umo Eno, the beloved First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, has passed away following a prolonged illness. Her death was confirmed in a statement released early Friday morning by Ini Ememobong, the state’s Commissioner for Information.

The First Lady passed on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in a hospital, surrounded by her family.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully at the hospital, on 26th September 2024, in the presence of her family,” Ememobong said in the official statement.

While further details regarding her illness and funeral arrangements are expected in the coming days, the announcement expressed the family’s gratitude to those who have shown support during this difficult time.

The statement highlighted the family’s submission to the will of God, requesting prayers and privacy as they mourn.

Governor Umo Eno expressed profound appreciation to everyone who has stood by the first family during this challenging period.
