Embattled suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has been released on bail by Justice Nicholas Oweibo.
The bail was granted with one surety in like sum who must have a landed property.
The court ordered that he should held in the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, pending perfection of the bail.

Emefiele, clad in yellow jalabiya, who arrived the court at about 9 a. m. amidst tight security, clutched a big black Bible in his hands, entered the dock and pleaded “My Lord, I am not guilty” to two count charges preferred against him.
The charge against Emefiele is possession of a single-barrel shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371) without a licence, an offence said to be contrary to Section 4 of the Firearms Act, and punishable under Section 27 (1b) of the same Act.
Next hearing date is fixed for November 14.
