Just in: Gunmen abduct daughters of Plateau Water Board MD in fresh attack

Three daughters of the Managing Director of the Plateau State Water Board, Apollos Samchi, were abducted in the early hours of Monday following a violent attack on the family residence in the Rantya area of Jos South Local Government Area.

The incident reportedly occurred around 12:53 a.m., when residents in the Dumac Suites neighborhood were startled by gunshots, according to a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

A security source confirmed that the attackers forced their way into Samchi’s home and kidnapped his three daughters: Nanlop, Kyenret, and Favour Samchi. The gunmen reportedly operated with military-style precision, suggesting a well-coordinated operation.

During the attack, the family’s security guard, Benard Makjwan, was shot in the stomach. He was immediately rushed to Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Jos, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Security agencies have already commenced investigations into the abduction. Authorities are working in collaboration with the military and other security operatives to locate and rescue the abducted girls, while efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend the perpetrators.

As the search intensifies, residents of Rantya and the wider Jos South area remain on high alert, awaiting updates from security officials on the progress of the rescue operation.
