A WhatsApp trending story recently claimed that Ramos Abass, a popular internet fraudster known as Hushpuppi, is dead. This rumour about Hushpuppi’s death was attributed to the controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo.
The journalist took to her social media page to debunk the Hushpuppi death rumour that was attributed to her and lay curses on the blogger who generated the story and put her name on it. She noted that, as an investigative journalist, she had never made such news regarding Hushpuppi.
She wrote, “May God deal with the stupid bloggers who attributed Hushpuppi’s death to me and moved it around WhatsApp.” I’m an investigative journalist, and there was no where I said that. Always check on my pages for authentic news. I should stop giving you Hushpuppi updates. This information has led to some reactions from her social media followers, as some claimed that they rushed to her page to check the authenticity of the news after they saw it trending on WhatsApp.
