The purported peace move aimed at reconciling Nigeria’s incoming President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Lagos State, Chief Bode George, by the Hon Prince Tajudeen Olusi led Lagos State All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors Advisory Council, GAC is a self-serving project.

This is the submission of party leaders across the state.

“Olusi an octogenarian and his cotravellers in the GAC are on a political survival and face saving mission, having failed to deliver Lagos State for Tinubu in the presidential election. The visit to Bode George is an afterthought, and a desperate attempt to enlist political patronages from the incoming Tinubu presidency.

“Olusi whose biological son is the serving Lagos Island local government Chairman and other GAC members, who have their children or nominees in public offices in Lagos political landscape, could not justify the confidence reposed in them by Tinubu, with the loss of his political home base to Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, offered Demola Famoroti a chieftain of the Labour Party.

“GAC members visiting a paper tiger called Bode George. A man who has not been able to win any elections in the state for the past 24 years, reeks of nothing but untamed desperation.

“In the run up to the recent elections Prince Olusi and his GAC members promised to deliver 5 million votes to Tinubu/ Sanwoolu elections. They seconded one of their own Cardinal James Odunmbaku (Baba Eto) to oversee the project but it failed spectacularly. The outfit was fully funded, yet the result was poor, abysmal and at the end Tinubu lost Lagos to Peter Obi.

“When the dust settled the political contraption called the GAC could only deliver 572,606 votes at the presidential elections which Tinubu lost to Peter Obi, the 737,172 votes at the gubernatorial elections which Sanwo-Olu won is attributed to outsourcing of campaigns to other party stakeholders, most of whom the GAC has held in derision” submits Tade Olowofuja an APC member in Ifako Ijaiye federal constituency.

“I don’t blame the GAC, they are overfed fat cats rubber stamp council, their beaks have been sufficiently wetted over the years. Their recent action is open to political watchers that the visit to Bode George is a desperate quest for redemption, Prince Olusi and his co travellers are now trying to cover the shame and disgrace of their woeful performance in Lagos State in order to placate Tinubu who was badly shamed and disgraced by that loss.

“Prince Olusi is also hoping he can present this so-called Unified Lagos Front, (UFL), to Tinubu in exchange for juicy federal appointments for the children and hangers. This so-called Unified Lagos Front is a fraud as there are even more disgruntled members inside Lagos APC than outside.

“Lagosians should not be deceived by the shenanigans of these old and spent politicians who should be at home nursing their grandchildren.

“Lagos will be free from the yoke of one man’s 24 year rule sooner or later and no type of fake reconciliation will stop the eventual emancipation of Lagosians.” offered Oyinkansola Doherty a PDP chieftain in Ikeja federal constituency.
