They were two of the people affected by the recent auction of 134 cars that the Lagos State Government had impounded for traffic violations.
On Thursday, the state government held an auction for 134 seized automobiles at the Taskforce facility in Alausa, Ikeja.
Lateef Kolapo asserted that his technician drove his car when he was unwell and in the hospital.
Osinachi Ndukwe said that he was impounded for driving against the flow of traffic and given three-month prison sentence.
He lost his three-year-old daughter during his prison sentence because he lacked the money to care for her medical needs.

Jandor, however, commiserated with Osinachi for his loss but kicked against reckless driving and violation of traffic laws.

He also criticized the State government for the harsh punishment of taking the offenders’ means of livelihood.

The governorship candidate assured the state’s citizens that when he becomes governor in 2023, breaking traffic laws will likewise not be tolerated, but that any legislation that denies offenders their means of subsistence will be examined.
