The Lagos State Ministry of Education has assured parents of Whitney Adeniran, the Chrisland School pupil who died during the school’s inter-house sports on Feb. 9, that no effort would be spared to get justice for her.
Mrs Folashade Adefisayo, the Commissioner for Education, made this known in a statement on Thursday, signed by Mr Ganiu Lawal, Assistant Director, Public Affairs of the Ministry.
Adefisayo, according to the statement, gave the assurance during a condolence visit to Mr and Mrs Adeniran at their residence in Lagos.
The commissioner confirmed the receipt of the post mortem report on the cause of Whitney’s death and restated the commitment of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in ensuring justice in the case.
“Nothing will be spared at ensuring appropriate interrogation of the cause and prosecution of anyone found culpable,” she is quoted as saying.
The commissioner said that the Ministry of Education shared in their grief and would  be with the Adeniran family in the journey for justice.
The commissioner’s team during the visit, according to the statement, include Mr Abayomi Abolaji, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education; Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance; and Mrs Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, Executive-Secretary, Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency.
Earlier, the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo, in a statement, had also said that his office had received the report of the post mortem conducted on the late Whitney.
