The newly elected Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local council development area of Lagos State, Honourable Seyi Jakande, vowed that his administration will encourage grassroots development at all levels of governance and improve infrastructural development for the people to continue enjoying the dividends of democracy.
The newly elected Chairman and son of the first civilian Governor of Lagos State, Late Alhaji Lafeef Jakande, made the remark yesterday during an interview with our correspondent at the official reception organized inside the local council office shortly after their swearing-in ceremony held at the state headquarters in Alausa Ikeja.
According to him, his administration will complement the efforts of the past regime and improve where necessary to ensure that everyone enjoys the government. He explained that his regime will ensure that every promise made during his campaign is fully delivered.

Those present at the reception party included former Senator representing Lagos west, Hon. Ganiyu Solomon, as well as the Mother of the Chairman, Alhaja Sikirat Abimbola Jakande, and other dignitaries across the state.
It could be recalled that last Wednesday, the Nigeria Guild Of Editors held a memorial Lecture in honour of the Father of the newly elected Chairman, Late Alhaji Lafeef Jakande, an occasion not merely a tribute to the iconic Nigeria statesman but a platform to interrogate our present realities and reimagine the future of our nation through the lens of Journalism, governance, and public service.
The Mother of the newly elected Chairman, Alhaja Sikirat Omobolanle Jakande, in a separate interaction, said she encouraged his son to do well as the Chairman and will continue to pray for him to perform excellently well, just as the late Father did in Lagos state as the first Civilian Governor.
