In a statement released by Mr. Tunbosun Ogunbanwo, Director of Public Affairs in the Lagos State Ministry of Health, the government confirmed that negotiations and engagements with the Medical Guild are actively ongoing.
The statement assured the public and the medical community that all grievances raised by the doctors are being addressed with “utmost sincerity and urgency.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) previously reported that the Medical Guild, an association representing doctors employed by the Lagos State Government, declared their intention for a three-day warning strike on July 26.
The reasons for the strike were not detailed in the government’s statement, but the appeal suggests a critical impasse in discussions between the medical body and the state authorities.
