A 24-year-old man, Isaiah Peter, was arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Thursday, facing charges of theft and conspiracy.
Peter is accused of stealing electrical cables valued at N47 million.
The defendant appeared before Magistrate Mrs. A.M. Alade on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, the offences took place between February and November at Dignity Plastics, located in the Alaba International Market, Ojo.

The court heard that Peter allegedly conspired with others, who remain at large, to steal cables belonging to Mr. Patrick Ojiako.
The charges against the defendant violate Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which deal with theft and conspiracy.
Magistrate Alade granted Peter bail in the amount of N1 million, with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until February 14, 2025, for mention.
