The Lagos State Taskforce conducted a cleanup operation along Mile 2 Oke on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, targeting illegal shanties and roadside vendors.

The taskforce operation resulted in the removal of unauthorized structures and the confiscation of 2,000 liters of petroleum products.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Abdulraheem Gbadeyanka, the Agency’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, explained that the action aimed to address severe traffic congestion, rising traffic-related crimes, and environmental degradation caused by illegal activities in the area.

The Lagos State Taskforce highlighted that the roadside vendors were also involved in the illicit sale of petrol and diesel, which poses significant fire hazards.

The seized products will be confiscated, and those arrested will face legal action.

This initiative aligns with the agency’s efforts to enhance road safety and environmental preservation under Chairman Adetayo Akerele’s agenda.
