Olawuyi expressed optimism that the beneficiaries would ensure judicious use of the items for them to be able to impact positively on other less privileged in the society.

He urged party members who are not part of the beneficiaries not to see themselves as less important, assuring that definitely they will also benefit in no distant future.

Oba Ismail Alebiosu, the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo and Chairman, Kwara South Traditional Council, who spoke on behalf of Kwara South Traditional rulers, described the gesture as unprecedented in the history of the constituency.

“As members of the traditional Institution in Kwara South, I want to say that we are impressed with the leadership qualities and representation of Rep. Tunji Olawuyi.

“We are of the opinion that if this kind of programmes have been happening in the constituency in the past the level of poverty would have been drastically reduced.

“I want to appeal to other political office holders especially within the Kwara South to emulate the exemplary leadership qualities of Rep. Olawuyi and make the most meaningful impact through their various offices,” he said.

Both Prince Ayo Fagbemi, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, and Mr Saliu Danladi, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, commended Olawuyi for his foresight and urged him not to relent.

Mr Shuaib Olanrewaju, an APC elder in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state, urged party members to support Olawuyi to be elected a member of the upper chamber come 2023.

“Our Local Government has produced members of the House of Representatives in the past but aside the good work of Rep. Olawuyi that we can see physically, only the late Rep. Funke Adedoyin also stand out amongst them.

“We have tested and trusted Rep. Olawuyi and he has passed. When a child passes one class, he or she needs to progress to the next class.

“So, let us give our total support to Rep. Olawuyi to move from the lower chamber of the National Assembly to the upper chamber come 2023 general elections,” he said.
