League Management Company, LMC has shifted the kick off of 2018/19 NPFL season earlier scheduled for December 1 indefinitely,National Daily learnt.
The postponement came from the backdrop of the Nigeria National League management inability to come up with promoted teams barely few days to earlier suggested kick off date of the elite league.
In a message from the LMC to club managers, the Congress which suppose to hold on Tuesday in Asaba has been postponed without a new date.
National Daily gathered that the club managers in the NNL who are supposed to meet in Abuja next week are pushing and clamouring for eight teams to gain promotion to the NPFL as against the agreed four teams from NNL to NPFL.
From the agreed program, Eight NNL teams; first two from each four abridged groups were expected to play a Super 8 in the two Conferences round, where the top two from each would gain promotion to the NPFL.
The NNL managers are pushing that the Premier League be 28 teams, while 12 will be relegated at the end of season. They are also not expected to relegate any of their teams to the Nationwide League.
