The new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, on Friday resumed office, and officially took over from the former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya.
Handing over the banner of leadership of the Nigerian Army to Maj. Gen Lagbaja, the outgoing COAS, Lt. Gen. Yahaya, noted that he is leaving the country’s security better than he met it, noting that Boko Haram terrorism was at its peak when he was appointed COAS 2021, but has been decimated.
The handover ceremony is presently going on at the Army headquarters, Abuja, at the time of this report.
President Bola Tinubu had appointed appointed Major General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja the Chief of Army Staff in his administration.
