Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Tuesday revealed the signing of two Executive Orders relating to mining and tourism in the state.

Gov Seyi Makinde and Government House officials after signing 2 Executive Orders

The Executive Orders include – Executive Order No 001 of 2023 on the Protection of Mining Communities Against Insecurity and Exploitation; and Executive Order No 002 of 2023 on the Establishment of Ministries (creation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and adding a Civic Orientation Unit to the Ministry of Information).

“Yesterday, I signed two executive orders; Executive Order No 001 of 2023 on the Protection of Mining Communities Against Insecurity and Exploitation; and Executive Order No 002 of 2023 on the Establishment of Ministries (creation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and adding a Civic Orientation Unit to the Ministry of Information).

“Under Omituntun 2.0, solid minerals exploitation and the development of the tourism sector are a major part of our plans to expand Oyo State’s economy further.”
