Manchester United have confirmed two major loan moves on transfer deadline day, with young left-back Harry Amass joining Sheffield Wednesday and winger Jadon Sancho sealing a switch to Aston Villa for the 2025/26 season.
In a statement on Monday, United announced that Amass, who turned 18 this year, has left Old Trafford for his first-ever loan spell.
The teenager made his senior debut for the Red Devils on his birthday earlier this year, coming on as a substitute in a Premier League away victory over Leicester City. The club believes the move will provide him with valuable first-team experience in the Championship.

United also revealed that Jadon Sancho has completed a season-long loan move to Aston Villa. Under the agreement, Villa will cover the winger’s loan fee as well as 80 percent of his wages.
Sancho, who is entering the final year of his United contract, will look to revive his career under Unai Emery’s side at Villa Park. United boss Ruben Amorim retains the option to extend the player’s deal by an additional year, ensuring the club maintains control over his long-term future.
The double move underscores United’s deadline-day activity as the club balances youth development with strategic squad management ahead of the new campaign.
