Manchester United player, Marcus Rashford, has blamed fans heckling and abusing him for why he confronted one of them after the Atletico Madrid match of Tuesday.
In a statement on his Twitter handle, Rashford denied, abusing the fan or gesturing with his middle finger.
He said, “A video can paint a thousand words and in this case lead to inaccurate information being shared on social media. Guys for weeks, I have been heckled, threatened, questioned and last night, my emotions got the better of me.
“I want to clarify two things. The first being what I actually said to the man throwing abuse at me, which was ‘Come over here and say it to my face.’ A fact security can back up and secondly that I used my forefinger to direct the fan to ‘come over here and say it to my face.’ I did not use my middle finger. I am not entitled.”
