Massilia Motors, the exclusive distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Nigeria and a joint venture with CFAO Mobility, has officially launched the all-new Mitsubishi L200 pickup into the Nigerian market.
The grand unveiling event took place at the iconic Eko Atlantic, Victoria Island, Lagos, drawing key industry players, auto enthusiasts, and stakeholders who had the opportunity to experience the next-generation pickup firsthand.
Renowned globally and locally for its ruggedness and reliability, the Mitsubishi L200 has undergone a comprehensive transformation in this latest model. With ultra-tough engineering, the all-new L200 is purpose-built to conquer diverse terrains and weather conditions, reaffirming its status as one of the most dependable pickups in its class.
Redesigned from the Ground Up
At the heart of the L200’s upgrade is an all-new chassis frame that significantly enhances ride quality, handling, noise reduction, vibration control, durability, and safety. Crafted from high-tensile materials, the new frame ensures optimal strength and performance, even in the most demanding conditions. A redesigned suspension system complements the frame, offering a smoother and more controlled driving experience.
The L200’s suspension system includes a front double wishbone optimized for a longer stroke geometry and a rear leaf spring setup (three layers) designed to reduce friction. These improvements contribute to superior stability, especially on rough or off-road paths.

Performance Meets Precision
Powering the new L200 is a 2.4-liter petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The pickup showcases a bold new design with a distinctive front grille and a dynamic body style that recently earned it the 2024–2025 Japan Car of the Year Design Award. Built with the legendary Pajero DNA, the L200 incorporates Mitsubishi’s advanced 4WD system, offering unparalleled traction and stability.
Safety technologies include Mitsubishi’s Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution, which work together to provide consistent braking and torque management even while cornering. These features ensure the vehicle maintains maximum traction and control under all conditions.
Comfort, Technology, and Utility
Inside, the L200 boasts a refined cabin crafted for both comfort and utility. Inspired by Mitsubishi’s rally heritage, the newly designed seats provide ergonomic support for long journeys. The interior also features an upgraded air-conditioning system with adjustable airflow, improved headroom and legroom, and ample storage options.
Tech-savvy users will appreciate the 9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a new 7-inch multi-information display, designed to enhance user interaction and vehicle monitoring. Meanwhile, a spacious bucket area measuring 2340mm x 1580mm and the largest rear step in its segment make it ideal for cargo hauling and commercial use.
Additional design features, like slip-resistant footing and wider rear bumper corners, enhance safety and ease of access, especially in slippery conditions.
Efficiency and Driver-Centric Innovation
Olivier Lamoure, Managing Director of Massilia Motors, emphasized the L200’s improved aerodynamics, including a redesigned roof and rear spoiler, which contribute to reduced fuel consumption.
He also noted enhancements in turning radius—reduced from 6.2m to 5.9m—and an increase in ground clearance from 200mm to 212mm, providing better maneuverability and off-road capabilities.
“At Massilia Motors, it is important for us to give the keys to the customer so they can personally test the vehicle and share their impressions,” Lamoure said. “Whether for personal use or for their business, performance and reliability are proven in the field, not in a showroom. This hands-on approach allows customers to truly experience the vehicle’s capabilities.”
