Meta Platforms has unveiled a new initiative, Creator Fast Track, offering content creators up to $3,000 per month to attract established influencers from rival platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

The programme aims to strengthen Facebook’s presence in the competitive creator economy by providing guaranteed earnings and enhanced visibility for participating creators.

According to Meta, the initiative targets “established creators who are new to or rediscovering Facebook.” Participants with at least 100,000 followers on other platforms can earn $1,000 per month, while those with more than one million followers are eligible for $3,000 monthly.

The programme runs for up to three months and requires creators to post short-form videos, known as Reels, to qualify for payments.

In addition to guaranteed payouts, creators gain immediate access to Facebook’s content monetisation tools, allowing them to earn further revenue based on engagement, views, and performance. Meta also promises increased reach and distribution of Reels, helping creators grow their audience faster on the platform.

Digital media analyst, Dr. Chidera Okonkwo, told Nairametrics that the initiative reflects Meta’s recognition of the growing influence of the creator economy.

“Platforms like TikTok and YouTube have dominated short-form content, particularly among younger audiences.

Meta’s Creator Fast Track is a strategic move to attract creators with existing followings and incentivise them to produce content that drives engagement on Facebook,” she said.

Content strategist, Emeka Obi, added: “Guaranteed earnings reduce the financial risk for creators experimenting on a new platform.

By offering access to monetisation tools and global distribution, Meta is lowering barriers for talent migration from competitors.”

Meta highlighted that its creator investment continues to grow, having paid out nearly $3 billion in 2025, a 35% increase from 2024 and the company’s highest annual payout to date.

Reels now account for approximately 60% of all creator payments, though the programme also supports monetisation of Stories, photos, and text posts.

Facebook has struggled in recent years to maintain engagement against platforms like TikTok and YouTube. To address this, Meta has rolled out tools such as AI-powered translation for Reels, enabling creators to automatically dub and lip-sync videos into multiple languages while preserving voice tone and visual authenticity. This facilitates global reach for content creators.

In Nigeria, content creators became eligible for Facebook monetisation in July 2024, benefiting from features such as in-stream ads and Ads on Reels.

To qualify for in-stream ads, creators must meet thresholds including at least 5,000 followers and compliance with Facebook’s monetisation policies.

By guaranteeing financial incentives and expanding audience reach, Meta hopes to reverse the trend of declining engagement among younger users and establish Facebook as a viable platform for high-performing creators.

Analysts suggest the programme could reshape content migration dynamics, encouraging a shift of top influencers to Facebook and reinforcing the platform’s position in the global social media landscape.

The Creator Fast Track initiative underscores Meta’s ongoing efforts to compete aggressively in the creator economy while providing tangible support to content producers looking to diversify their platforms and income streams.
