An American woman, who’s facing charges for allegedly killing her husband, has been accused of also taking out $2 million in life insurance policies on him before his death.
Kouri Richins, 33, allegedly poisoned her husband, Eric Richins, 39, by using five times the lethal dose of fentonyl into a cocktail she made for him in March 2022.
The mother of three later self-published a children’s book about an angel wing-clad deceased father watching over his sons. She promoted it on television and radio, describing the book as a way to help children grieve the loss of a loved one.
Earlier this month, she was charged with aggravated murder and three counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
NBC reports that prosecutors on Thursday filed an amended document that also accuses Richins of taking out life insurance policies on her husband before his death.
