More headaches for Solskjaer as Man United star makes final decision to quit Old Trafford

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has finally decided to quit Old Trafford after enduring some difficult times to the Theatre of Dreams.

The Dutchman who joined the Red Devils in transfer fee of £34 million has sadly suffered limited playing times since his arrival from Ajax last year.

National Daily can confirm that the 24-year-old has started just four Premier League matches for the Red Devils.

Though United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has repeatedly insisted that the midfielder has a future at the club but the Norwegian had reneged on his promises as the former Ajax midfielder has continued to lack playing times this term.

Meanwhile, the Ajax academy graduate who has interestingly remained professional at United while declaring his love for the club’s fans despite his ordeal, but has sadly been worried about his international future after being left out of the Netherlands’ last two international squads.

The reports reaching National Daily from the claim by Italian top transfer journalist to Fabrizio Romano reveal that Van de Beek has finally made up his mind to leave the club in January and he’s already looking at offers elsewhere.

Unless there’s a sudden and unexpected change of events, Van de Beek will look to move to a club in Spain or Italy – though Newcastle United have also been touted as an option.

United are in a strong position given the midfielder has over three years to run on his deal but his stock has plummeted given he’s barely kicked a ball in 18 months.

Spanish giants Real Madrid had been the favourites to sign the former Ajax man before the pandemic hit but it’s unclear whether the Los Blancos could afford him now, even if their interest remains.
