Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki has ordered security operatives in the state to arrest his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole for ‘deliberately instigating the protest’ that rocked Benin City, the state’s capital on Wednesday, February 15.
Recall that at least 2 persons were shot dead during the protest over the scarcity of new Naira notes.
Speaking through the Commissioner for Communication & Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, Obaseki said from investigations the protest was politically motivated.

“We have been around the city all day, speaking with some of the protesters and we have done our investigations.
At this juncture, we will like to call on security agencies to call Adams Oshiomhole for questioning. He should be arrested and made to account for his movement in the last few days especially here in Benin City. Oshiomhole deliberately instigated the protest of the people,” he said.
