Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has signed the Child Right Protection Executive Order into law. Nasarawa State government has, therefore, domesticated the Child Rights Act, and the law in the state seeks to ban child street begging. The law prescribes 10 years imprisonment for parents who send their children to go on street begging.
The Governor also signed the state Anti-Kidnapping Act into law to tame kidnapping. The law prescribes death penalty and life imprisonment for anyone found guilty of the act. It also prescribes forfeiture of buildings used to accommodate kidnappers and their victims.
